Build Storage Bed With Drawers

The first step of the project is to build the headboard panel for the storage bed.

Build the cleats out of 1 6 lumber and the panel slats out of 2 6 lumber. Use pieces of plywood as the drawer dividers attach on the top and bottom with pocket holes. Next build the base of the bed the two boxes that hold the drawers. I used my router to add a 1 4 dado groove to the drawer pieces then rounded off the top edges of the drawer pieces with a 1 8 router bit.

Lay the slats on a level surface making sure you leave no gaps between the components. Insert 1 1 4 brad nails through the cleats into the slats and add glue to create rigid joints.
