They re tiny and the larvae are often hidden and protected in dark cracks crevices and out of the way sites. They have an elongated body which is covered in hair or large setae. They have a slightly rounded shell and are usually black brown in colour with flecks of white on their backs. They range in color from black to speckled with white brown yellow and orange.
